What is the SweatPals App and How to Use It
Fitness at your fingertips. Run clubs, yoga, hiking, pickleball, and other group wellness events are available with a quick click from your phone. And this isn’t your ordinary community app—it’s SweatPals.
What is the SweatPals App?
The SweatPals app, founded in Austin, TX, is a space that was built for people to form genuine connections around fitness no matter their background. And it’s made to be the solutions for community leaders that want a tool that does it all. No more trying to juggle planning your events, managing them, and figuring out monetization on separate platforms.
Where is SweatPals located, and in what cities can I use the app?
They have grown significantly in the past few years, from their home base in Austin, to all major cities around the United States! You can pretty much use the app anywhere.
How does it differentiate itself from other event management platforms?
Compared to other platforms like Meetup or Eventbrite, SweatPals makes it easy to build a community, get your payout quickly, and do not require fees to unlock features that would make it easier to be a community organizer.
How to Use the SweatPals App
There are a few different ways you can use this app. You can use it as someone looking to attend interesting events or create a community you are passionate about. Let’s dive into both.
Participating in SweatPals Events
Forming new friendships and sharing your love of fitness is easy on the SweatPals app. Create an account with your photo, interests, and bio. Then, start looking for communities you want to be a part of in your city. You can filter down events by activity, date, cost, or distance. You can even get as detailed as finding “ladies/men only,” “dog-friendly,” “LGBTQ+,” or “kid-friendly” events.
Creating a Community on SweatPals
Have you always dreamed of starting your own walking group that goes to local parks? A soccer group that meets after work on Wednesdays? You can with SweatPals. The app is completely free to use as a community organizer, and SweatPals only takes a small percentage of transaction fees.
You can send emails and in-app messages, form a group chat for your community with different channel topics, and more.
Did You Say Dating?
Let’s not shy away from saying it can also be used as a dating app. I’ve heard that people have found their partners on here!
It’s a fresh way to meet and connect with people around things that you are passionate about without the stress of a conventional dating app.
Meeting a Sweat Pal
Speaking of dating, you can also use another feature on the app that looks similar to the swipe feature on your conventional dating app. Swipe through potential fitness partners that you can meet up with in IRL for one-off meet-ups or to join you at an event. You can also toggle off features that let people know if you want to meet friends, date, etc.
Starting a Guided Hiking Community
Personally, I’ve enjoyed using SweatPals to build my own community. The Roam the Outer Space hiking group is an extension of my blog and is a space where people can join a small community that values forming meaningful connections.
What did I love about it? It’s an easy-to-use platform that is free for all users. The drawback is that they are still ironing out bugs, so it isn’t completely perfect, but it’s in a good spot now!
